Why do you exercise, walk, run, care about your physical fitness? If you ask any runner/walker, there is always a reason. What is your’s? For me what inspired me to run was to honor all my friends and colleagues who were lost on 9/11. It was hard to deal with the stress day to day.
I decided to run a marathon in their honor and dedicate every mile to a person and my memories. Besides being a healthy thing to do it also gave me a positive way to deal with the unimaginable. Running gave me an outdoor exercise during which it was my time to enjoy the scenery or just think. As a coach for Team in Training, I meet many that run/walk to find a cure, to honor their family and heroes. Whatever your reason getting out and doing something is a positive response and a healthy approach to dealing with stress!
